SF Window Takeover With Guts & Glory

GutsGlory window take overIf you have been to the clubhouse to work, play, or have walked by then you might have noticed the situation on our windows. And by situation we mean the coolest interactive art installation!GutsGlory-3GutsGlory-16We teamed up with Guts & Glory to come up with an epic art piece for our windows. Guts & Glory is a design studio founded by ginger partners in crime Faun Chapin & Meg Paradise that specializes in building well crafted brands. They seek to constantly push boundaries, provoke ideas, question forms, interrogate expectations, and generally meddle in creative mischief and what they come up with was no exception! We brainstormed a fun visual in our bay windows with vinyl. They came up with a brilliant design that our 10 year old selves would be proud of: mad libs! GutsGlory-20They covered our windows with the mad libs, creating a story titled Love Vortex Gone Awry that’s filled with adventure, mystery, and clouds! It becomes an interactive art piece as we change out the fill-in-the-blanks daily with submissions from members and those wishing to stop in and fill out a sheet. If you are interested in participating, come on by the clubhouse. We will share the ones we use on social media so you may just see your submission! GutsGlory-7We hosted a party sponsored by Mail Chimp to kick-off the installation. Mail Chimp is how we get out the word about all of our events and happenings so we felt this was fitting (if you are not subscribed to our mailing list, you can sign-up here.) Wine from Union Wine company was flowing all night and we had a baby pig keeping things cute and interesting. Yes a real pig! Guts & Glory brought along their office pig (!!!) you should check our her Instagram. We are starting to think Makeshift needs an office pig!guts & glory petunia the pigGuts & Glory provided sheets much like the mad lib pages from the days of yore. Everyone at the party got a chance to write down their answers to adjectives, colors, sounds, and types of alcohol, because lets face it, even though we felt like kids again, we had the benefits of still being adults! guts and glory mad lib GutsGlory-33They also created these nifty booklets filled with more mad lib style stories called the Adventure & Sleuthing Society (courage/vigor/character/oomph.) That sounds like a society we would like to be apart of! Their gold foiled post cards with vintage travel images were a hit at the party too.guts and glory bookletsWe love getting cozy in the window seats and watching the passers by slow down to take in the installation. They often have looks of wonder, excitement, and sometimes even confusion, but thats just how we like it!GutsGlory-44Thank you to Mail Chimp for sponsoring the installation and party and to Guts & Glory for designing the piece. Wine provided by Union Wine Company and flowers via Ampersand.
